Heart Medicine: Building Your Personal Relationship with Cacao

Training Disclaimer & Ethical Context

This course explores cacao as sacred medicine through relationship, reverence, and lived ceremonial practice. The teachings shared here arise from my long-standing, embodied relationship with cacao as a living spirit and ally. Over many years of working alongside cacao in ceremonial and devotional contexts, this relationship has been profoundly transformative for my own healing, self-acceptance, and trust in the divine. Cacao has been a steady teacher in my life—supporting emotional healing, heart-opening, and a deepening remembrance of connection to land, body, and spirit. My work with cacao is informed primarily by Peruvian lineages and teachings, as well as by extensive lived experience in ceremony. This course does not teach Central American or Mayan cacao traditions. I do not claim knowledge of, training in, or permission to teach Mayan or other Central American Indigenous cacao lineages. I have not learned directly from those traditions, nor have I been authorised to transmit their ceremonial or cultural teachings. Out of respect and ethical responsibility, those lineages are not represented in this course. Where the word medicine is used, it is offered in a spiritual and relational sense—not as a medical or therapeutic claim. Cacao is approached here as a sacred plant ally, honoured for its capacity to support connection, presence, and inner awareness. This understanding of medicine is rooted in relationship with the living world, where plants, land, and spirit are recognised as teachers rather than commodities. This course is experiential in nature and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace medical, psychological, or professional care. Participants are invited to engage with cacao consciously, responsibly, and in alignment with their own capacity, health needs, and personal sovereignty. All teachings are offered with humility, care, and respect—for the plant, the cultures that have held cacao as sacred, and for each participant’s unique path of relationship and remembrance.
